Install.
Requirements
A Mac with Apple silicon, running macOS 11 or later. Each download holds one plugin in two formats:
- VST3, for hosts that load VST3 plugins.
- CLAP, for hosts that load CLAP plugins.
Audio Units are not included yet. Logic Pro and GarageBand load only Audio Units, so they cannot use these plugins yet.
Download
After you pay, an email arrives with one download link for each plugin you bought. The links are valid for 72 hours. If a link has expired or the email is lost, use the link in the order email, or the one on the thank-you page after checkout, to get a fresh email: enter the address you used at checkout and a new 72-hour link is sent to that address. A fresh link gives you the current version of the plugin.
Each download is a zip archive for one plugin, <Name> below
standing for Pressure, Hermes, Ira, Athena, or Ananke. It holds:
<Name>.vst3, the VST3 plugin<Name>.clap, the CLAP pluginREADME.txt, a short version of the steps below-
EULA.txt, the license. The same terms are on this site: see Terms
Both plugin files are bundles you copy into place. The archive holds no installer program.
Install
Do this for each plugin you downloaded. Finder asks for an administrator password when you change these folders.
- If the download is still a zip file, double-click it to open it.
- In Finder, choose Go, then Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G).
- Type
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/and press Return. -
If that folder holds no folder named
VST3, create one with exactly that name (File, then New Folder). -
Drag
<Name>.vst3into theVST3folder (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/), not the one namedVST. -
If
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/holds no folder namedCLAP, create one with exactly that name (File, then New Folder). -
Drag
<Name>.clapinto theCLAPfolder (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP/). - Restart your DAW.
- Rescan plugins in your DAW.
Ableton Live lists VST3 plugins only when Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders is on in its Plug-Ins settings. Option-click Rescan for a full rescan.
First run
The plugins are signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens them without a warning.
Your host finds a plugin when it scans its plugin folders. After copying the files, restart the host and rescan, as in the last two steps above. If a plugin does not appear, see Plugin not listed.
Update
Download the plugin again from a current link and install it the same way as a first install. If Finder asks whether to replace a file of the same name, choose Replace. Then restart the host and rescan.
Settings you have saved as presets are kept apart from the plugin, as files in
~/Library/Application Support/gda/presets/, with one folder for each
plugin. Installing a new download does not touch them.
Uninstall
- In Finder, choose Go, then Go to Folder.
- Type
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/and press Return. - Move
<Name>.vst3to the Trash. - Choose Go, then Go to Folder again.
- Type
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP/and press Return. - Move
<Name>.clapto the Trash. - Restart your DAW.
- Rescan plugins in your DAW.
Finder may ask for your administrator password when you remove files from these folders.
Presets you saved stay where they are. To remove them as well:
- In Finder, choose Go, then Go to Folder.
-
Type
~/Library/Application Support/gda/presets/and press Return. - Move that plugin's folder to the Trash.
